Psychic Abilities & Professional Psychics

I genuinely believe that there are people who have psychic abilities, or gifts, and have met a few that have astounded me with tangible predictions that were verifiable...none of them to date were professional psychics and each said the information they received (by whatever means) was not something they could control at will.

As an example I have met a lady who gets fairly accurate info from "a voice" only she can hear, but this "voice" speaks randomly (perhaps only when it wants to?) and she cannot just ask or demand info at any given time and get it. She feel this voice is coming from an Angel.

I think with professional psychics especially those who are on television there will be a pressure to perform. For instance if they said I'm just not getting anything, or there is nothing here, or I'm having an off day chances are they will not be invited back to the tv show that must engage its viewers with interesting material in order to gain ratings and money. It then becomes a matter of whether the psychic can pay their mortgage and bills next month. Again loads of pressure. And perhaps better to make some things up and at a later date say "my predictions are only 95% accurate" than the other.

Just my thoughts as were inspired by a discussion on the fraudulent mediums act CANADA currently going on in our Canadian paranormal Facebook group.

We moved into an older house and we rent the upstairs apartment. Soon after we moved in we feel cold in living room and the door opens and shuts by its self! This has happened many times over the two months we have lived here. We want to know what could cause this to happen????

I heard about a study they did a couple years ago where they tested people's psychic abilities with just average people who have never claimed to even have them. 7 out of 10 times people were able to correctly 'know' when someone was staring at them even though they weren't aware if another person was ever there behind a mirror wall. I think psychic abilities are like a muscle its just underveloped in most of us. But you could make it stronger by using it.

Thank you so much for writing this post. I am new to your blog and I am impressed with the way you handle things. I have posted a similar view on youtube videos and was bombarded with thumbs down. I also do believe that psychics do exist but they hold regular jobs and have regular lives like the rest of us. I am very weary of professional psychics. I guess if ppl want to be fooled then there will b someone willing to fool them as well.
