We received the following early this morning:
I've just immediately run inside to document this as best I can. It is 1:30AM.I'm normally a skeptic, but am just beside myself with adrenaline...I live in Toronto, ON. I was just returning to my mid-rise apt. building from walking my dog. When crossing the street from the east side to the west, I noticed a strange light in the western sky... just a bit further than the CNE grounds.Once across the street, I stood and stared at the light. It looked like an elongated 'pencil' or stubby track-light bulb. As I watched it sit in a stationary position, it seemed to tilt with the left side dipping southwards. It was no airplane. I saw an airplane just moments later and had the two to compare to one another.I yelled across the parking lot to an older man walking his dog - asking if he was seeing this too. He seemed to think I was screaming about something completely unrelated and dismissed me.It seemed to get brighter suddenly, then almost as if it heard me yelling it began to dissipate slowly - over the span of about a minute. It stayed in EXACTLY the same place the entire time. There was no point of origin or trajectory. As the light dimmed until it was almost a "vapor"? I decided I needed to go in and grab my camera/phone and try and get this image.I came back outside within 30 seconds, dragging my girlfriend and it was gone. I've never seen anything like that in my life.
Our thanks to the witness for sharing this experience with us. We are currently looking into this report, and would appreciate hearing from anyone else who may have seen this too or can add any further information.
