This is a long one.

My disclaimer:

I do not have a Master’s in quantum physics, harmonic resonance theory, particle theory, audio engineering, acoustics or the psychology of human consciousness. Nor do I claim to have any official degree or certification in paranormal studies. I also don’t profess to be an expert on all of the variables and possibilities known or unknown about how sound or the many other forms of energy are produced, reproduced or manipulated based on current or developing alternative scientific knowledge and theories.
I am therefore quite confident that I am not capable of definitively making any statements, claims or dismissals that EVP’s and other types of paranormal activity either exist or do not exist.
However; based on my own personal and shared experience with EVP phenomena and capture, I feel confident that EVP phenomena definitely require further study and exploration.

Speaking from my own personal experiences and acquired knowledge with regard to EVP capture. I can honestly say... I don’t know how EVP’s are being produced or how they are being sent by who ever or what ever is sending them.
I do however believe I have a pretty good idea of the medium of which is being used to send them and what type of equipment can receive them. The medium I think is either a high level audio frequency or impression of some form of energy not currently known about, that is capable of being manipulated and captured by audio equipment. Both Digital or Analog audio recording equipment can be used and analog is the preferred choice because it is much more difficult for the average Jane or Joe to falsify or manipulate. (It’s a bit more convincing when you have a hard copy)
(I am thinking a form of energy that we don’t know haw to manipulate ourselves)

I know you’re thinking he’s *crazy*, but the very study of the paranormal is thought
by many people a crazy thing to study! Luckily I have plenty of company!
However; I have some pretty good Ideas and thoughts on the matter about what may be happening which are my own personal opinions. Mostly based on my own and shared experiences and the audio data collected thus far.

While it’s true in the general perception of sound or speech that we think of vocal signals requiring some sort of production mechanism such as a voice box, we need to keep in mind that audio signals and sound waves can be manipulated in a vast number of ways. For instance... our minds manipulate electrical energy to some how help us distinguish the different tones in bird songs from one another. If we wanted to produce a bird’s song we don’t need an actual bird, all we need is a digital vocal synthesizer. Likewise through this type of medium we can also reproduce human voice and speech, simply by tweaking the frequency and signal tone. With that said; if this is all we need to produce and manipulate recognizable speech, then who knows the infinite possibilities there may be to manipulate sound energy and signal frequency we have yet to discover.

Now some one mentioned here that they thought that death was some how an infinite state of pure thought.

My question to this is:
If we think the only way to have speech is through a living human vocal box, and that we cannot have recognizable speech with out these variable present. Then how can we likewise have any kind of thought process present with out the same similar variables present? (A living brain)
It is my understanding that like a voice box one would also need a living brain to produce the conditions required for thought to take place. So with out a living voice box and vocal cords and no presence of a living brain how could either process occur?

Well luckily for us; consciousness is the scientific stumper here.
Try as they may; mainstream science with all of its perceived wisdom has difficulty explaining what consciousness is. What is it? How does it work? Why do we assume we only posses it? Does it survive death and continue in some other realm? Or does it seize to exist after the brain dies?
Basically in my opinion “Consciousness it’s very self is a paranormal phenomena.”

Consciousness is who we are and it defines our very being of existence.
If I am blind I still have consciousness, If I am def I still have consciousness, if you could cut your head off and some how keep it alive with out damage and keep your brain alive, you (or your consciousness would still exist) . I think the brilliant mind and consciousness of famed astrophysicist Stephen Hawking is a great example.
Lou Gehrig's disease robbed him of his ability to communicate with the world outside his body yet he still existed inside and with technology is able to communicate with us through a voice synthesizer. So… if consciousness is able to exist in this sate, who’s to say it doesn’t survive death and just exist in another state we cannot comprehend.

Further more; Voice as is thought are processes derived from energy.
Thought is apparently produced by the brain via electrical impulses. Each time one of those synapses fires it produces some form of electrical energy. This energy apparently allows our minds to think and to produce a physical action. Voice is first a product of thought. As I sit here typing this I am thinking of each word I am going to type before I type it and I could say them out loud if I wanted (this is really long). I just said that out loud, but I had to think it before I could say it. If consciousness was to survive death, it would leave this plane to another with the ability to think and the knowledge to process speech from thought. If some how it had the means to send a message from its new place of existence, perhaps then manipulation of sound energy in some way is the process that would allow for communication resulting on our end as an EVP capture.

My point is that energy (in this case electrical energy or sound energy) can be manipulated in a vast number of ways. In ways we understand and quite possibly in equally as many ways we don’t. Even in ways we can’t begin to comprehend because of our limited knowledge of energy, or likely in combination with our limited ability to open our minds to a universe and beyond of infinite possibility.

Of course Carl Sagan said it best: “Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence”

Keeping this in mind and my thoughts above I’d like to point out that anything is possible. This is why in my humble opinion it’s really quite difficult to rule these things out especially when you don’t have irrefutable evidence either way as to its possibility of existence.
