Oakville Ontario UFO Report

Oakville Ontario June 22nd 2005

"I was outside my workplace in Oakville, Ontario (Winston Churchill & Bristol Circle area) having a quick break at 10:15AM. I was just enjoying and scanning across the nice blue sky and was looking in an easterly direction. I noticed a bright light very high in the sky and and it was moving very slowly and then seemed to just stop. It would hover for a few seconds and then move again. At one point it stopped for about 30 seconds.

It had no shimmering effect at all, the light was very constant. At that time there were two other fellows outside and I called them to verify if they could see the light as well. One of the fellows was able to get a fix on it, the other fellow couldn't fixate on it.

A few seconds after asking the guys to verify what I saw, we saw two fast moving objects at a little lower altitude and in formation like that of a couple of Jet Fighters performing a fast fly by.

They were moving in a northwest direction and then banked to head east towards the object. We watched the "jets" complete the turn and head into the direction of the bright light.

Then we turned back to the bright light and then witnessed it move again and then move quickly and upward until we lost sight which seemed like only a fraction of a second. We turned back to try and fixate again on the "jets" but we had lost them as well. The whole ordeal was about 2 minutes long.

My initial reaction upon sighting was that it was an airplane, but then it quickly dawned on me that the object was simply to high and moving to slow for commercial aircraft. And the fact that it could stop and hover then made me think Helicopter and then I realized again, that the altitude was simply to high. I'm not an expert on altitude, but I would beg to say it was sub-space and much higher than any normal cruising altitude.

I then wondered if it was a UFO type sighting and the Air Force was trying to intercept or investigate. It might have been a military training mission of any sort, but I find it unusual to have it over Oakville area and at this time of the day?

Unusual to say the least. It gave me "butterflies" in my stomach and just did not seem normal to me."

Our thanks to the witness for sending us this report. We would appreciate hearing from any other potential witnesses to this event.

Best Of Freaky Friday - Virginia Death Omen

Each Friday we will have a look at the stories and experiences that have been related to us over the years that are amongst our personal favourites. These will include Crypto, Ghosts, UFO's and other strange events that may be considered Fortean from in around the Toronto, Canada area .... and since they are from our own personal files will likely not be found elsewhere on the web .... enjoy!

Virginia, USA - Death Omen

The following strange encounter was sent in by one of our readers, and they are hoping for some feedback from others who may have gone through something similar or have heard about another report like it.

An event that took place in 1990 has had myself, and 2 friends curious for some years now.

August 1990, three of us went to Atlantic City. On the way home, my passenger side control arm snapped. I recovered from the skid and safely made it off the highway.

After hours spent waiting for a wrecker that never came, another friend came and got us, sometime after dark. We dropped off the first of our group in Fairfax, VA, then began the trip to our second stop.

We were on a divided highway in Manassas VA, no roadside lights, and tree lined. We noticed a female walking down the shoulder of the road. She was in a long black formal dress, kinda old style. She was weaving from side to side as she walked, so we figured we ought to stop and help.

A curious note is that despite the side to side movement, there was no vertical movement or bounce to her step. In the instant between her leaving our headlights, and when she should have been next to us, she was gone.

The next day, I was in a car wreck that had me in the emergency room for 5 hours, and the paramedics and firemen agreed that I should have been dead given the severity of the crash.

Two years later, in August, the guy that lived in Manassas, and was in the car when we saw the girl was killed in a car wreck.

Another two years following that, the driver was in a car wreck that left him legally dead for 2 minutes, and has walked with a cane ever since.

Nothing bad has happened to the guy we dropped off before we saw the girl.

I am curious as to whether there is some example in some folklore that would match this experience. It could be ruled as a sad coincidence, but there are enough details in this story that seem to resemble a kind of death omen, that I am curious as to if there is some tradition that would fit this episode.

Our thanks to the witness for sharing her experiences with us. Please note that since we have had so many new readers over the past year I thought that it would be nice to replay some of our faves in a Best Of Series. :D

Speaking of ghosties I was reading up on a report from an American ghosts & hauntings book of a "haunted" office building where office furniture was seemingly moved overnight by some unknown entity. I have decided to write an article on poltergeists in a commercial setting so if you know of any further reports on similar cases either on the web or within books I'd like to hear about them!

Do you have a real life ghost story, an encounter with a UFO, or other paranormal experience/s you'd like to share? If so, we'd love to hear from you! Post your own experiences in our comments section or send us an email. Please post only true life experiences ... we love good fiction, but there are other fantastic blogs out there to post fictional accounts to.

2008 Canadian UFO Survey

A record number of UFO sightings have been reported in Canada for the year 2008 according to the annual Canadian UFO Survey. Here is a copy of the official press release:

The 2008 Canadian UFO Survey has been released by the independent, non-profit research organization Ufology Research, based in Manitoba, Canada.
Researchers noted 1,004 UFO reports across Canada in 2008, an increase of 26 per cent over 2007. Reports had been filed by witnesses with government and military agencies, police, civilian UFO groups and online UFO websites.

“We were amazed to discover this many UFO sightings had been reported in 2008,” says Chris Rutkowski, co-author of the study. “This is unprecedented.”

Ufology Research began its national collection and analysis of Canadian UFO reports in 1989, making this the 20th year sightings have been studied. A 20-year longitudinal study of the data will be released later this year.

Of the hundreds of reports in 2008, only about 10 per cent were labeled as unexplained after review. And of these, less than one per cent were “high quality unknowns” that were both unexplained and had above-average levels of investigation and documentation.

Cases ranged from the relatively commonplace reports of starlike lights in the night sky to large, V-shaped craft flying slowly and ponderously over homes in rural or urban areas.

Rutkowski notes that in 2008, hundreds of photos and videos of UFOs in Canada were posted on websites. “But most of these were stars, planets and aircraft rather than alien spacecraft.”

Ufology Research’s statistical analyses of the Canadian UFO data also found details such as that most UFO sightings have two witnesses, most UFOs are white in colour and that the typical UFO sighting in 2008 lasted an average of 18 minutes. What’s more, “flying saucers” are comparatively rare, with reports of triangles and spheres much more common.

Despite the remarkable increase in reported UFO sightings in Canada, Rutkowski cautions that, popular opinion to the contrary, there is still no incontrovertible evidence that some UFO cases involve extraterrestrial contact.

“The continued reporting of UFOs by the public and the increase in numbers of UFO reports suggests a need for further examination of the phenomenon by social, medical and/or physical scientists,” he adds. “This is a fascinating field for study, whether one believes or doubts that UFOs are ‘real.’”

Best Of Freaky Friday - The Closet

Each Friday we will have a look at the stories and experiences that have been related to us over the years that are amongst our personal favourites. These will include Crypto, Ghosts, UFO's and other strange events that may be considered Fortean from in around the Toronto, Canada area .... and since they are from our own personal files will likely not be found elsewhere on the web .... enjoy!

"I have visited your site for the first time today and am inspired to share a story of my own with you. Normally I don't talk much about it (I don't want people to think I'm a nut!) but after reading some of your stories I called my mother for the finer details, maybe you could check it out to see if their is any validity to it.

Well, here goes, when I was six a woman moved into our co-op on Pell St. My mother and her clicked really well, they would sit outside for hours at night talking. One night my mothers friend confessed her four year old son was creeped out in their new apartment and frankly she was too (hence the reason she would prefer to stay outside and talk).

She tried to dismiss it as not being used to the place, but told my mother she often felt like she wasn't alone, or would feel a draft when no windows were open. The worst room though was her son's room, it just felt like really bad vibes in that room. and her son hated going in his room, he wouldn't play in there and he'd never sleep in there, he said the boogie-man in his closet would get him.

I guess this just fed into my mother's friend's fear, so my mother, always the little investigator devised a plan to prove to her friend it was just new-apartment jitters.

She said that I never complained of boogie-men or monsters so they should have me sleep over. The next night my mom and I were at her friend's house, I was watching tv while they were in the kitchen (I think her son was at his dad's home) when I started to dose off on the couch. My mother told me to go lie down in her friend's son's room. They wanted to do this when her son wasn't there so I wouldn't know about any 'boogie-man'.

I remember going in his room and lying down on the bed, the closet was a few feet beneath the foot of the bed, I just felt drawn to it or something, I couldn't stop staring at it. I started to feel very frightened, and wanted to get back up, but I was planted with fear.

I started whispering "There's no such thing as monsters, there's no such thing as monsters" and closed my eyes as tight as I could. But damn it, there was something in that room I could feel it at the bottom of the bed. I heard the closet door rattle or something, like a door loose when there's a draft, and that was it. I flew out of that room like I was on fire. I ran right into the kitchen and said, "Mom, there's a monster in the bedroom!" My mother and her friend just looked at each other.

I started crying because I wanted to go home.

My mother tells me that her friend started asking questions, and found out a man hung himself in the closet.

Unfortunately, my mom can't remember where her friend got this info so I don't know about the story's credibility. I do know however, that seventeen years later I still check the closet before I go to bed on many occasions, and the feeling I had in that room that night will be etched in my memory as long as I have it."

Haunted Everything For Sale On e-Bay

Firstly this is not an ad for e-bay or its supposedly haunted auction items, however it can be fun to look through their "weird stuff" categories on rainy days when there is nothing better to do. Some of the items listed make you wonder who the heck would buy this junk?

As an example one of our PSICAN members came across an auction for a "haunted key" The cost was quite a lot of money, and the seller said it would bring you bad luck. Lets just pretend it was true. Would you subject this "curse" to any one and make them pay 200 dollars for it? Would you buy such a thing?

The next item is a "haunted lamp" that the seller said turns off or on by itself in the middle of the night. Well for lack of a better word d'uh! It is a touch lamp which uses capacitance of your body to trigger it, and it can be triggered by other things like static electricity. At the very least it could be just faulty.

PT Barnum put it best with "there is a sucker born every minute" perhaps that is why we see so many "haunted" items for sale on e-Bay.

****************

Speaking of sale items, but ones that are definitely not haunted, but good quality, at cheap prices check out this sleep number bed I was having a look at. I always wanted one of these to combat my back problems, but they tended to be pricey. Its good to see that they are becoming affordable. B)

More True Tales of the Paranormal

Last week we received quite a treat in the mail from author Kimberley Molto. We were kindly sent a copy of her newest book More True Tales Of The Paranormal. Looking forward to giving this one a read! Thanks Kim! :D

Here is a snippet about the book to whet your literary appetite:

"This fascinating collection of true paranormal accounts written by a researcher and scientist documents the experiences people from all walks of life have had with the supernatural, covering a broad spectrum of mysterious events. It is written from a personal, analytical, philosophical, and scientific point of view.

The experiences range from phone calls from the dead and telekinesis to various forms of hauntings. These paranormal events, in whatever form they take, change the perspective of those involved on life, death, and reality. This important book also sets out to explore the possible meanings and purpose of such experiences as well as investigating various cultural and scientific explanations. What if this is all true? What meaning does it hold for us all? Would we live our lives differently if we knew the real truth behind the strange events described in this unique look at paranormal phenomena?"

Government of Canada Provides Open Access to UFO X-Files

The Toronto Canada based independent news agency ZlandCommunications, has learned that the Canadian government under the leadership of the Rt. Hon. Prime Minister Stephen Harper has provided open access to approximately 9,500 UFO files. These files can be found at: Canada's UFOs: The Search for the Unknown.

The Canadian web site states, “These documents were accumulated between 1947 and the early 1980s and represent all records filed with the federal government on UFOs. There are approximately 9,500 digitized documents in a variety of formats, including correspondence, reports, memos and procedures. Some are specifically concerned with particular UFO sightings, while others are more generic in nature….”

These files reside at the Library and Archives Canada web site. Reports are housed within four separate categories:

1. The National Defense Department,

2. The Department of Transport,

3. The NRC (National Research Council) and,

4. The RCMP (Royal Canadian Mounted Police)

Canada’s UFO X-files indicate Canadian government officials have been involved in attempts to make sense of the UFO matter as far back as 1947 and possibly earlier.

A spokesperson from Exopolitics Toronto indicates, “We have known that Canada has a rich history of involvement in the UFO question. This release confirms it.” The spokesperson went on to say, “Exopolitics Toronto already has in its possession documents obtained in 2004 under the Access to Information Act from the Department of National Defense indicating RCMP officers have officially reported UFO sightings, in addition to civilian UFO reports and Air Traffic Control flight log details. These records show that Canadian NORAD F-16 jets have been scrambled to chase non-correlated targets without transponders in Canadian airspace. These Canadian files, now in open view for the public, the media and scientific community, are yet another sign that Disclosure of the UFO question is at hand. These release occurrences do not happen randomly or for no reason.

Our thanks to Exopolitics Toronto!

Best Of Freaky Friday - Haunted Hospitals

Each Friday we will have a look at the stories and experiences that have been related to us over the years that are amongst our personal favourites. These will include Crypto, Ghosts, UFO's and other strange events that may be considered Fortean from in around the Toronto, Canada area .... and since they are from our own personal files will likely not be found elsewhere on the web .... enjoy!

We have masked the hospital in this account in order to protect the past, and current staff members who have written to us, and so that current, and future patients are not made uncomfortable by their stay at this facility.

One of our readers writes:

"I was shocked to see that there was not one report regarding the former [Name Witheld] Site.

When I was in University, 8 years ago, I had worked as a security guard at the above mentioned hospital. At this time the whole place was being renovated, and at night there was only 3 of us in the entire place, 2 guards and a Kidney Dialysis tech who worked an on-line support. My duties were to do an hourly patrol, which was more like a bi-hourly patrol, which consisted of a walk through the entire facility. This was a creepy endeavor even during the day, so one can imagine what fun it would be at night.

There appears to be at least three places of activity, that I know about, the first being the basement washroom. This place seems to have toilets that flush themselves while you are in earshot, and upon inspection the door was locked with a padlock, on the outside, and when opened no one to be seen. The toilets by the way are manual flush which require someone, or something, to push down to activate.

The second place is the main lobby. At least 4 times I myself saw a shadow, from the reflection of the lobby doors which were in front of the reception desk which I was stationed. When I checked the CCTV, there was no one there, and the other guard was nowhere near the main lobby, which I determined by the CCTV cameras.

The third place is in the basement, where the doors leading to the shipping door seen to slam by themselves at irregular intervals, and always when you are walking away from the area.

It took me 4 weeks to transfer to another location, and it couldn't have happened a day to soon. To this day I still can't even drive by the place, cause I still have recurring nightmares about it. I think it would be a great place for an investigation, as long as I'm not leading it. If you find other guards who worked there they could enlighten you to probably more places, cause I heard stories from some other guys who worked there."

Travel To Sacred Sites

One of the things I would like to do as I get older, and the kids are leaving the nest so to speak is to travel to some of the sacred places found around the globe. Very high on my list is a visit to Machu Picchu.

Machu Picchu is situated on a mountain ridge above the Urubamba Valley in Peru. It was a sacred site for the Pre-Columbian Inca people, built in 1460, and only rediscovered in 1911.

Machu Picchu travel is not as difficult as one may think, and you can easily plan an entire trip via the computer. Being a UNESCO World Heritage Site Machu Picchu is accessible to visitors, but also extremely well protected.

If you could visit a heritage - sacred site anywhere around the globe where would it be?

Paranormal Hotspots

Of interest, I've noticed that (blank) "hotspots" seem to be everywhere... but especially where there are active people interested in (blank) field.

Using my forte as a example, I can't think of a single ghost group that doesn't list it's own area as a "paranormal hotspot"... well... except Toronto which did say that, per capita and per "story", we don't measure up to other areas of the province.

Other than that, much like "ley lines", if we were to mark so-called "paranormal hotspots" on a globe, I think only the poles and some of the oceans would be "ink free".

When I see websites and groups saying things like "Dayton, Ohio is the MOST haunted city in North America..." or "Kentucky has an incredible amount of bigfoot sightings..." or things like that, based on nothing more than the author's (or webmaster's) own thoughts and conceptions, you'll forgive me if I'm a little cynical, and not always wearing my paranormal, rose-colored eyeglasses. ;) B)

Please Read - Family In Desperate Need Of Help

A note from PSICAN Researcher Penny Dobson:

Hi to all.

I worked for the past two summers on a semi-remote reserve up north, 6 hours past Thunder Bay, called Mishkeegogamang. We worked on a summer camp for kids from the reserve and we got to know a lot of them very well and became very very close to them.

Within the past week, a family we knew very well had a very serious fire and lost everything. There are no fire stations in Mish, so the houses basically burn to the ground. One of our kids was severely burned and 5 others had smoke inhalation. They had to be taken all the way to Thunder Bay. The mother has recently given birth to a new baby. This is a very large family who now has nothing. I would like to at least collect some basic needs items that can be sent up on a truck with FTC Canada to the family. FTC Canada is presently trying to figure out a way to rebuild the family's home as well as send them up things that they will need such as mattresses etc...

I am not asking for much from anyone, just if you have a few extra bucks lying around, if you can send it to me. (This is just me doing this, so there will be no tax receipts given) If you have basic needs items that can be given to the family, it has to be easy for me to pick up, or if you can drop it off when I am working in Oakville. I don't want to have to drive all over Ontario hehe.

If ever you would like to donate money in the future towards the reserves up north, please contact FTC Canada.

If you would like to donate money towards this cause, please send it to me:

If you are not able to donate anything, please keep this family in your thoughts, as we know the children of the family very well. Thank you for your time.

This is the news article that was found in the Wawatay newspaper:

Teen burned in house fire

by: James Thom - Wawatay News

A Mishkeegogamang teen received second-degree burns to various parts of his body after a fire ripped through a home on the First Nation Jan. 26.

Nishnawbe Aski Police Service officers attended the scene of the blaze at the Ten Houses site of the First Nation at 5 a.m. The home was fully engulfed by the first at the time officers arrived, according to police.

Three community members entered the home to rescue a man who was trapped inside. They placed wet blankets over their heads to protect against the heat and flames.

Police said they located the male on the upper level of the residence and carried him to safety.

A mother and her five children were taken to the Health Science Center in Thunder Bay for follow-up on treatment for smoke inhalation.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

Freaky Friday - Montgomerys Inn

Each Friday we will have a look at the stories and experiences that have been related to us over the years that are amongst our personal favourites. These will include Crypto, Ghosts, UFO's and other strange events that may be considered Fortean from in around the Toronto, Canada area .... and since they are from our own personal files will likely not be found elsewhere on the web .... enjoy!

Montgomerys Inn

Montgomery's Inn is a historic home and inn in south Etobicoke in the city of Toronto, Ontario. Built in 1832 in a Georgian style with later additions, the inn has been restored to an 1847 period, and operates as a museum of the City of Toronto.

This report is not really a ghostly experience, but definitely something out of the norm, and perhaps psychic in nature. Read on:

"I grew up very close to the inn and was fascinated by it all my life. I literally must have visited it monthly from the time I was 5 until I was 25 (when I left the city). I can still tour it by heart in my memory. In all of the hours that I spent there I never felt it was haunted, but I definitely felt drawn to be there constantly.

The only unusual experience I had there was in the 7th grade. As a class assignment we were asked to write a short story and I chose to write the story of a maid who worked at the inn. I got a very good grade on my story and my teacher sent a copy to the Inn. The next time I went to visit, the tour guide at the time (who knew me very well) was very excited and pulled me into an archive room to show me some of Thomas' records that had never been on display (so I was unaware of them). The records concerned the life of a maid who had been employed there and my story mirrored her life almost exactly... even down to her name - May Evans.

Anyhow, I certainly love the Inn and would be most happy to hear any information that you find on it. I miss it dearly now that I cannot visit it - I look on the Inn as a warm old friend."

Our thanks to the witness for sharing her experiences with us.

Clayton Ontario UFO Report

Clayton Ontario February 4th 2009 9:15pm

My wife and I just witnessed a brightly burning object heading west over Clayton Lake.We live on the southeast shore and watched a light which seemed to change from white to red on the other side of the lake move slowly away from us heading west until it dropped below the treeline. It did not appear to have any flashing aircraft lights and it moved away very slowly as if it were a very slow moving helicopter. It did not look like anything I have ever seen before and it was too windy and far away to hear if it made any noise. I wonder if anyone else witnessed something strange in the sky as well over Lanark County at this time.

Our thanks to the witness for sharing this experience with us. If you have experienced something similar, or can add further information please contact us. Your privacy is assured.

Dopplegangers or Body Doubles

Dopplegangers or apparitions of the living (body doubles) are not a new phenomenon and not as rare as one might think. There are a few opinions and theories on what these are that range from the "crisis apparition" someone who appears in great turmoil while still living (usually close or at the point of death) => to persons who appear during an O.O.B.E or out-of-body-experience.

A few years ago I followed up on a report from a young woman who was living with three roommates. She reported what began as hearing her name called when no one was home or in the middle of the night when her other roomies were asleep ... It became even more odd when her roomies began reporting seeing her when she was either not home or fast asleep in her room! This went on for months until she moved out ... at which point she was no longer plagued by voices calling her name nor her roomies seeing her "body double" ....

Another report I worked on involved a young woman seeing what appeared to be herself as a child accompanied by her Mother in a large store ... despite being shocked she chased after them only to have them vanish ....

In A Dark Place

Maria Grazia has recently interviewed the author of In A Dark Place. This book was published several years ago and is about the young boy who lived in a former funeral home. His story was documented in A Haunting in Connecticut and features Ed and Lorraine Warren. Here is a snippet from the author claiming he was told to fabricate the story:

"As I gathered all the necessary information for the book, I found that the accounts of the individual Snedekers didn’t quite mesh. They just couldn’t keep their stories straight. I went to Ed with this problem. "Oh, they’re crazy," he said. "Everybody who comes to us is crazy. Otherwise why would they come to us? You’ve got some of the story – just use what works and make the rest up. And make it scary. You write scary books, right? That’s why we hired you. So just make it up and make it scary." I didn’t like that one bit. But by then, I’d signed the contract and there was no going back. I did as Ed instructed – I used what I could, made up the rest, and tried to make it as scary as I could. The book was called In A Dark Place: The Story of a True Haunting."

I have never been a fan of the Warrens so this was no real eye-opener for me. I have always found their "work" to be very sensationalist, and extremely difficult to believe and now I know why.

Native Crop Circle Account

A recently found Native account, "The Daughters of the Star," in the book Thirty Indian Legends of Canada (first published in 1912), includes the mention of a hunter finding a flattened ring in prairie grass; similar to other old accounts in legends and folklore from the US and Europe, a further piece of evidence that crop circles, at least simple ones, may have been around for a very long time...

What are your thoughts on crop circles?

Personally I would love to pack my Swiss Army luggage and visit Wiltshire, England one day, which is home to some of the most spectacular crop circle formations on the planet. While I accept many are hoaxes, others do seem to defy explanation.

Go Home Lake, Ontario UFO Report Early-1990s

I saw your article regarding go home lake Ontario. I was talking to my neighbor the other day. And he had a story regarding that lake. 16 yrs ago he and his father and 2 other men were fishing cat fish off a river tributary off go home lake. It was 1:30 am all of a sudden the water lit up and start to bubble. The cat fish he said all went to the banks as if trying to escape the UFO. Out of the river came a black box which came out of the water a meter or so , It then sank and went down the river, lightening up the river as it went. His Father said weird things have been happening there for many years, but they haven't return there for 16 years now. These guys are your typical fishing and hunting guys, so I honestly believe them.

Our thanks to our reader for sharing this with us.

Feeling Alienated?

Unfortunately people can be quite harsh towards those who have strong beliefs or interests in the paranormal, and I was recently asked if I ever feel "alienated" I'm certain no pun intended for my interest in UFOs, and ghosts.

My answer is yes & no. I think most people now accept that there is life outside of this planet. I do tend to suss people out and get an idea of who they are before bringing up my interests. I also tend to associate with like-minded people on a personal basis so it is not too much of an issue for me.

What are your thoughts? Do you feel alienated or worry about ridicule?

Loon Lake British Columbia UFO Report

In summer 2002,an elderly woman, believed murdered by her Son, went missing in the Loon Lake Resort area near Clinton, BC. Myself, 4 other members of BC Search & Rescue (SAR) and a member of the RCMP were camped at the eastern end of the lake. At approximately 0200 AM a large star appeared above the treeline to the east. Later the object dropped below the treeline. Distance to the 'star' was approximately 1 km. Three members of the group went to investigate: we found a large triangular object hovering in the sky at a distance of approx. 500m from us. A 'shimmering energy' moved back and forth over the underside of the otherwise black craft. We watched the craft for approximately 2-3 minutes and the craft aggressively and rapid took off north. I reported this UFOBC that year and they reported to me that the same craft had been reported from Van Island to the Yukon.

Our thanks to the witness for sharing this report with us. If you have had a similar experience or can add further information please contact us.

The Poltergeist Phenomenon

One of the better resources I have come across from recent times is The Poltergeist Phenomenon: An Investigation Into Psychic Disturbance by John and Ann Spencer. I believe it is still in print and very worthwhile.

They subscribe completely to RSPK as the causation of poltergeist activity. And they do make a very good case for it.

They distinguish between what we call a "historical repeater" or ghosts that show no sign of being aware and poltergeists. Yet they admit that houses or other buildings such as pubs (they are English) that had a reputation for being haunted were good candidates to produce poltergeists due to the feelings these places inspire in people. The historical repeater would then be blamed for the poltergeist activity, which in their opinion was completely inaccurate.

Both are very nice people Ann is a parapsychologist, and John headed up BUFORA for awhile, both have worked with the SPR.

Just a quick off-topic note of sorts to sing the praises of this Wilmington NC real estate online resource. Definitely something to check out if you are interested in property in that area.

Waverly Hills Video Clips

Wow! It feels like forever since I last posted a current blog entry here, but hopefully we'll be back on track this coming week.

Over the weekend I posted some clips from Robin's investigation of the Waverly Hills Asylum to our Facebook group. For those not able to view them on Facebook I will try to get them into a more manageable size, and post them here to the blog as well.

We recently did some work at the Enwave Theatre, which you can read about on the ParaResearchers.org website.

Also stay tuned for two upcoming big announcements from Toronto Ghosts!

More later! And Happy Groundhog Day! B)

Another Week of Time Stamping - Seventh Post

"I love deadlines. I like the whooshing sound they make as they fly by." is what the late Douglas Adams once said... Sadly, we too have a deadline on some things and took last week off to meet that deadline... but it went "whooshing" by and we missed it... sort of.

In essence, we need ONE MORE WEEK to prepare some offline things for a deadline that WILL be met, but like last week, we're pre-preparing posts, time-stamping them, and like this one, they'll pop up, ONE PER DAY, to ensure you have "fresh" reading material.

So, on that note, please enjoy the next seven days where we reproduce seven past "Shady Orb Rest Home" award winners from the old (defunct) Torontoghosts newsletters...

This "award" was given out as a rant to whatever was troubling poor old Matthew that particular moment in time... and the winner was "banished" to the Shady Orb Rest Home for whatever crime Matthew felt had been committed.

==============================

From August 2006...

"We're here to help the ghosts... unless it affects our pocket books!"

What do you call someone who is reported to be in great suffering who is basically locked into a situation to the financial benefit of a few but not themselves?

I believe the term is "slave".

...and who'd want to live with the moniker "Slave Owner" amongst us???

Well, we know one couple that seem to be cool with this!

We've mentioned them before and I refuse to give them ANY publicity... let's just say they (and their cohorts in "stuff") are not high on the "esteem" list with us.

These two are professional house clearers... and are trying to hock a TV show... and are "helping" publicize "haunted places" for tourism.

They say, as to their house clearing activities that they are helping lost souls and spirits and their agony and turmoil into the light... except...

They happily advertise incredibly haunted locations... one, reportedly "Canada's Most Haunted Site" (despite no one in the paranormal community hearing about it until these two visited) with almost "guaranteed ghosts"!

Uh... wait a minute...

If you're "helping ghosts to the other side", why did they leave these one's alone?

One has to assume the only answer is $dough$.

...or perhaps these particularly tormented spirits (according to their advertising) are masochists.

If you clear the ghosts, how can you charge $200 (plus) for an evening at the place?

So, these two and the owner are ENSLAVING MISERABLE SPIRITS to SELL EVENINGS TO EXPERIENCE THEM!?!?!

Oh yeah, that's helpful.

Good thing that, chances are, it's all hogwash anyway.

Well, all these folks are already in the Shady Orb Rest Home... so we'll just have to add an addition.

We'll chain them to a wall and force them to watch marathon showings of Pauly Shore's greatest movies... and then charge people to watch them moan and groan and be violently ill.

Yeah~!
