The Eleven Thing

Since being a teenager I have off and on seen the numbers 11:11 or 1111 either as time on a clock or license plates. These numbers the elevens as I call them seem to come in waves.

Anyone else experience these? What is behind this do you think?

I see the 11:11 on computers, watches, cell phones you name it. It is not all of the time though for me. Sometimes months go by, and I don't notice them.

Once I tried to see if it was just a formed habit, and I had trained myself to look for it at just the right time. So in an experiment I covered up all the clocks in the house.

I happened to have the radio on....and you guessed it...the announcer called out the time 11:11!

I thought it was funny, and uncovered all the clocks.

What do you think?

Speaking of seeing things I recently switched my old pair of eyeglasses from some new "brainy" specs. I may post a pic with them in the near future.

I have the same thing happen but the numbers are 911 and I at first figured it was just because of history but it keeps coming up.
Spooky at least for me.

Thanks for stopping by, and sharing this Nitwit. I had a lot of the 11 thing just prior to 9/11 but do not really connect the two because I've had it before and since without major incident.

I think it is just noticing something you think about a lot. I know sometimes when I am thinking of a certain work I tend to hear it all the time. Say I am thinking about watermelon, it seems like every time I overhear a conversation I hear that person talking about watermelons. It may be the same way for you but with the number 11. Look for the number 12 and see if you stumble on it a lot too.
