Wordless Wednesday

Once upon a midnight dreadry, while I pondered, weak and weary,

Over many a quaint and curious volume of forgotten lore,
While I nodded, nearly napping, suddenly there came a tapping,

As of someone gently rapping, rapping at my chamber
door.

"'Tis some visitor," I muttered, "tapping at my chamber
door;

Only this, and nothing more."

From: The Raven by Edgar Allen Poe

Not just your average jack-o-lantern! I could not resist sharing at least one Halloween 2008 photo for this week's WW meme. How was your Halloween? What did you do?

Happy Wordless Wednesday! Thank you for stopping by! Please note that this entry is for both the Tuesday, and Wednesday editions of WW.

Very cool! I've never seen a jack o' lantern fresco before.

You can read all about Halloween for a group of local (and one not so local) bloggers on my blog. Other accounts of the story can be found at No Accent Yet, Spiffytown, and Farrago. I'd link to them if your comment form allowed it, but since it doesn't you'll just have to find them yourself!)

That is a very cool pumpkin; and I love the quote. Poe is just perfect for this season.

I love the picture! I had a traditional Samhain, honouring the dead and inviting them in to tell each, human and animal, how much I love and miss them. x
