THIS is exactly why we fight so hard to bring respect, and dignity to this topic, and ghosts & hauntings research, and investigation. This is not made up Hollywood-like crap, this is the reality of this phenomenon, no blood dripping from the walls, no slime, foul smelling demons, bad evps that sound like the so-called investigators, dust orbs or other assorted nonsense.
I still have tears after watching this, yet in the watching it is also uplifting. Watch the clip and you'll see what I mean. Our thoughts, and prayers are with this family, but what a beautiful confirmation that life does go on.
Wishing all our friends, and supporters a very happy leap day!

Was the Hope Diamond really cursed?????

The Hope Diamond would never be considered wholesale fashion jewelry, but to be honest I certainly would prefer the latter if the stories of a curse are true! Divorce, bankruptcy, and death have all been blamed on this rock.
Evalyn Walsh McLean a former owner (pictured above) certainly believed in this unique stone's curse. However, since the diamond was put in the care of the Smithsonian Institute, there have been no unusual incidents related to it.
What do you think? Can an inanimate object really carry a curse that could affect all those that possess it?

Rev. Ralph Hardy, a retired clergyman from White Rock, British Columbia, took this now-famous photograph in 1966. He intended merely to photograph the elegant spiral staircase (known as the "Tulip Staircase") in the Queen's House section of the National Maritime Museum in Greenwich, England. Upon development, however, the photo revealed a shrouded figure climbing the stairs, seeming to hold the railing with both hands. Experts, including some from Kodak, who examined the original negative concluded that it had not been tampered with. It's been said that unexplained figures have been seen on occasion in the vicinity of the staircase, and unexplained footsteps have also been heard.

Dear Readers,
Dr. Greer will be speaking at the Science and Consciousness Conference in Santa Fe, New Mexico at the end of March. If anyone has enough frequent flyer miles to donate for a First Class airline ticket from Washington DC to Albuquerque (ABQ) it would be much appreciated. We need to know quite soon as we need to make the reservation. Please contact Disclosure Project directly if you can help out.
Please see the Disclosure Project web site events page for conference details.

Egg-shaped or elliptical UFOs such as the one pictured above are more common than one may think, and perhaps a better example of a possible alien craft than many other assorted shapes described by UFO witnesses.
This painting was based on photos of a landing site in 1964. For those not familiar This famous event happened to Lonnie Zamora, a police officer, near Socorro, New Mexico, April 24, 1964. Project Blue Book classified this case as "unexplained". There are FOIA released documents that indicate that there was little doubt at the FBI, the SAC and Project Blue Book that Officer Zamora had really encountered alien beings on that fateful day.

Scene from: THE MATRIMONY (2007) a Chinese ghost story... from China!
Apparently all the ghosts must pack their spooky bags and vamoose from China in time for the Olympics. I am not kidding!
Read on:
BEIJING, Feb 14 (Reuters) - China has added ghosts, monsters and other things that go bump in the night to its list of banned video and audio content in an intensified crackdown ahead of the Beijing Olympics.
Producers have around three weeks to look through their tapes for "horror" and report it to authorities, the General Administration of Press and Publications said in a statement posted on the government Web site.
Offending content included "wronged spirits and violent ghosts, monsters, demons, and other inhuman portrayals, strange and supernatural storytelling for the sole purpose of seeking terror and horror", the administration said.
The new guidelines aim to "control and cleanse the negative effect these items have on society, and to prevent horror, violent, cruel publications from entering the market through official channels and to protect adolescents' psychological health".
The regulations suggest China, where graphic, pirated sex and horror movies are available on most street corners, is keen to step up its control of the cultural arena ahead of the Beijing Olympics in August, which are widely seen as a coming-out party for the rising political and economic power.
They come just weeks after Beijing clamped down on "vulgar" video and audio content, slapped restrictions on Internet sites and handed down a two-year film-making ban to the team behind the steamy "Lost in Beijing".
Definitely a case of truth being more stranger than fiction, people are scarier than ghosts....you get the idea ![]()
I have a collection of oddball funny t-shirts from the 70's, and 80's. You know the type with silly slogans that still have that ring of truth to them....

As a result of a secret meeting held in New York on February 12, 2008, certain United Nation officials appear to be taking more than an active role in moving the disclosure process forward concerning UFOs and the Extraterrestrial presence on the planet.
Sources indicate a UN group has been authorized to release certain information to the public. This interest has been generated by the significant increase in the number and type of UFO sightings recently throughout the world, with nation states wanting clarification about the implications of these sightings.
The serious attention being given to this matter and the active involvement of these UN officials signals a breaking of ranks from the United States and some other G8 countries who do not want any nation states to bring the UFO/ET issue to the forefront of international discussion.
The USA has been the dominant force behind the secrecy involved in the UFO cover-up. However this dominance appears to be crumbling as the United Nation’s process of disclosure gains momentum.
In his original report Dr. Michael Salla of the Exopolitics Institute states:
“I received the following email from two trusted colleagues… regarding a reliable source informing them that a secret meeting occurred yesterday morning (Feb 12) at the New York office of the United Nations concerning the recent spate of UFO sightings. It appears that a number of nation states are concerned about the impact of increased UFO sightings and wish to be briefed about what is happening. Their source, who currently works in the diplomatic corps, had to travel for an early morning off the record meeting at the UN. Their source revealed that a secret UFO working group exists that is authorizing the release of such information to the public…”

"I wanted to pass on something, possibly a ghost, that I kept seeing On Keele and Vine. There used to be an apartment building on the above corner, and in the late 80s, it blew up or burned down, I forget. I used to work at the Canadian Tire that was located across the street, which has been relocated to the stockyards, and I worked the evening shift (3:30 - 11:30) back in the 90s. At the same time a bud of mine pumped gas at the attached gas station, and I used to sneak out constantly to have a smokes with him at the end of the driveway, on Keele Street.
Usually in the 10 o'clock hour we used to see this character, just standing on the corner of Vine. This guy was dressed in a dark jacket, dark pants, a dark hat (Russian style, I don't know what they're called), and carrying a white shopping bag. This guy would just stand there without moving facing the burnt-out apartment building. The shell of the building stood at the location for a few years after the incident, and was finally bulldozed, I think, in the late 90s. We would see this guy fairly frequently and he was always dressed the same, and always stood there motionless staring at the building. We never really thought much of it, considering there are a lot of people who hang around the neighbourhood (considering the half-way house down the street beside the post office), and we both just figured the guy was a drunk or something. I don't want to seem mean or something, but anyone who knows the Junction, or Parkdale, knows that there are some people in both neighbourhoods who walk to the beat of a different drum, to put it mildly.
It wasn't until I got married, in 1998, that my new sister-in-law pointed out that there could have been something paranormal about this guy, when I was at a family function. The more I thought about it, the more my sister made sense. The guy always appeared in the same getup, never moved, and in hindsight, seemed to be out of place, even for the neighbourhood. When I recently talked to my buddy, who worked at that gas station until about 2001, he said that every now and then, he would see the same guy standing there, staring at the now vacant lot. I am only assuming that it is a guy, because I never saw a face, because he/she was facing away from me. For the last couple of months, I have been getting my gas at the station my friend used to work at in hopes of seeing this man again? So far nothing. "
And....
I used to work at Mcbride Cycle, around the corner from the old Crappy tire, at the same time as the other guy, however I worked from 2:00pm to 8:00 pm. Occasionally I would get my dinner from the local sub shop, located at the corner of Keele and Dundas (the north west corner), then I would drive north on Keele, because I used to live at Weston road and Eglington. There is at least 20 times I can remember seeing this guy, standing on the corner of Vine and Keele, looking at the burnt out building. The building in question was torched by some maniac who lived there, I remember the torch was hailed as a hero for pulling another tenant to safety, then was charged with arson! My former employer said, from time to time, that the building was some sort of rooming house, or even a half way house or group home, I remember this because a coworker mentioned that she was looking for an apartment and suggested that place, then we were all informed about the building. Every time I saw the guy standing on the corner, it was a rather infrequent thing, I always took notice of him as I drove by, and he always seemed out of place. I never once thought of him being a ghost, until I read that story. I don't know if there were any fatalities in the building fire, if there were, and my former employer was telling the truth about the building being a half way house or a group home, we could possibly identify the guy on the corner. Damn, I think I might have a sub for dinner tomorrow night, and see if I might see the guy again.
The same reader wrote:
I went on the Toronto Star archives to do some research on the fire, mainly because it stirred my interest, and found the following. The fire/explosion occurred on the 16th of April 1988, I had thought it was later, but confirmed it with another source (I guess it seems that the time I wasted or worked at Mcbride was longer than I care to admit!!). I think the reason I think of it happening later is because, the torch was put in jail in the summer of 1990. The cause of the fire was definitely arson, and the loser, who set the blaze, was distraught from the breakup of a relationship, so he decided to torch his girlfriend's apartment/rooming building. There was one fatality, that of a 23 year old woman. So it clears up a few things, the building was a lower income building, not a group home or half way house. Also, the ghost or whomever's appearance on the corner, was probably not a result of the building's destruction. I noticed (from working in economically depressed areas) that the homeless seem to stay in a particular area, and rarely migrate, and if the 'ghost' was a homeless person, how come I, and the other witness, only seemed to see him at night around the same time, and he never panhandled or asked for a smoke? If nothing else, more things to ponder........

The origins of the most popular customs associated with Saint Valentine's Day almost certainly trace their roots to a conventional belief generally accepted in England and France during the Middle Ages that on February 14 (halfway through the second month of the year), the birds began choose their mates. The reason for this assumption is somewhat clouded, but may be related to the fact that the first songbirds which traditionally warble after a blustery winter tend to debut in mid-February. One of the earliest written examples of this belief was penned by Geoffrey Chaucer (1340/45-1400), an English poet and vintner, in his "Parliament of Fowls," the literal meaning of which is "Meeting of Birds." Chaucer's poem was penned to honor the grand wedding of Richard II of England to Anne of Bohemia, which took place in January of 1382 and is generally regarded as one of the most successful and loving royal marriages of the Middle Ages...indeed, Richard and Anne rank among the leading romantic couples in history. This custom was also recorded by Michael Drayton (1563-1631), an English poet from Warwickshire, in his poem entitled "To His Valentine" and again by Robert Herrick (1591-1674), generally considered to be the greatest of the Cavalier poets...English poets associated with Charles I and his exiled son whose works embodied the life and culture of upper-class, pre-Commonwealth England with courtly verses of beauty, love and loyalty.

Excellent read!!!

A classic in the horror genre Village of the Damned is a very eerie film in my opinion. In a small village some children, all born at the same time, grow very fast, look all alike and have the same mysterious powers. The eyes alone are creepy!

Help a ghost attacked me! Or, Oh here we go... right down memory lane...
"Jessica Alba says she was attacked by a ghost when she was 17.
The star of The Eye claims she was visited by an otherworldly being, and was so terrified afterwards she refused to stay in her house.
Alba, 26, recalled: "I had no idea what it was. I felt this pressure and I couldn't get up, I couldn't scream, I couldn't talk, I couldn't do anything.
"Something definitely took the covers off me and I definitely couldn't get off the bed, and then, once I did, I screamed, ran to my parents' room and I don't think I spent many nights in that house ever again!
"There was definitely something in my parents' old house - I don't know what it was. I can't really explain it. But they got it blessed and they burned sage and stuff since then."
Why is that every time a horror flick is released these days either the set is haunted, the actors are haunted...etc.... At this rate I would advise that all individual health insurance companies provide clauses for injuries sustained by ghosts, demons, vampires, trolls, and other assorted paranormal miscreants during the filming of such movies.
Sniggers......
Rick Sorrells a witness to the major series of UFO events in Stephenville Texas last month has received threatening calls to “shut up” about what he saw. In addition Sorrells received a disquieting late night visit from a stranger on his Texas farm.
Staff Writer Angelia Joiner writes, “Sorrells said soon after his Associated Press interview went around the world in mid-January - not only was he allegedly contacted by a Lt. Colonel telling him to keep quiet about what he saw, he was also contacted by a woman named Linda Moulton Howe.”
Moulton Howe is an award winning UFO investigative journalist who conducted an interview with Sorrells.

To put to rest one of the stupidest arguments I've heard from Ghost Hunters that break into seemingly abandoned places... "Well, there were no signs saying No Trespassing so it must have been okay to go there!"... this is POPPYCOCK! Does your home have a "No Trespassing" sign in the front window or lawn? Does your office or workplace? Do most suburban homes? Does your doctor's office? Are there signs that say "No Murdering" and if those signs are not around, is killing okay then? In the eyes of the law, ignorance is no excuse. All property is OWNED by someone (public land is "owned" by the crown in Canada). Chances are, those owners do not want you wandering about their space or, even with public spaces that can be visited, they want you to adhere to scheduled hours and rules. To not do that and/or to not get permission is against the law and is a criminal act.
You should also keep in mind that if a building is abandoned it could be that way for a very good reason that has zero to do with the supernatural. Older buildings potentially are filled with Asbestos, and your ghost hunting activities could eventually lead to mesothelioma a very real and scary health issue.

Private Residence (401 and Black Creek) - North York
This pertains to a residence in the Black Creek and 401 area of North York. The witness writes:
"The first incident happened when we first moved into the apartment. One evening I was coming out of the bathroom which leads to a long hallway. As I opened the bathroom door I saw a figure of a person at the end of the hallway that quickly walked into one of the bedrooms. Thinking it was my partner, I followed them into the bedroom, and soon realized that there was no one in the room.
A few months later, my partner was doing some hobby work out on the balcony. All of a sudden the electric sander that he had used earlier that day turned on by itself. I wasn't home at the time, but when I got home my partner told me all about it, and he was quite shaken. The next day, my partner left to pick up some hardware and I was home alone. As I was cooking, I took a break and went out onto the balcony and noticed that my partner had left the sander plugged in. I was quite upset that he had done this, and decided to tell him first thing when he got home. When he got home I immediately told him that he shouldn't have left the sander plugged in knowing that the previous day's story really scared me. My partner went out onto the balcony to unplug it, and saw that it had already been unplugged.
This last incident happened a few weeks ago. Christmas night my partner and I were sitting down to watch a couple movies at home. The movies were over about 1:30 am, so we decided to stay up and watch some television. We were five or so minutes into watching TV when the stereo turned on all by itself - quite loud and startling! At the same time the television lost it's feed and went gray and fuzzy. I have never been so frightened."

The History Channel now joins LARRY KING LIVE as another consistent mainstream outlet to provide a counter-point to the entrenched government cover-up of the UFO matter by government intell-organizations. Regular Wednesday evening programming on the History Channel is now dedicated to the search for the truth.
Currently in Canada, no on-going public discourse is occurring on this matter of high geo-political importance.
There are three basic reasons why the UFO/ET issue should be investigated by media to develop this public dialogue:
· Ethical off-world civilizations, millions of years more advanced than ourselves have made themselves known but their presence remains formally unacknowledged by the press and government. This unacknowledged reality is cloaked by secrecy and silence. The documentation proving this fact is abundant.
· The elimination of fossil fuels, radically new sources of energy, fundamental social change and a renewed international political agenda are within reach.
· The re-distribution of global wealth, critical medical and technological advances that could rid the planet of disease, poverty and cycles of violence are on the horizon.
Exopolitics Toronto stands ready to assist all radio and television media outlets to consider similar programming or coverage in Canada. Exopolitics Toronto’s world-wide network of resources, investigative personnel and research experts can be utilized in an advisory capacity to enhance coverage and program production of this critical geo-global issue.

Last month I wrote about an email I received where a lady blamed a "ghost" for taking her weight loss pills and making them disappear. I am very doubtful that a spirit is involved, but without benefit of being able to investigate the location (the email was from the USA) who can say with 100% certainty.

What I can say with absolute certainty without benefit of being there is that the he/she/it that wrote to us this past week along with "orb" photos taken during the height of the snow storm, freaking out that they were being attacked by thousands of ghosts ..... you have nothing to worry about.
It is snow, and the only thing that will exorcise that is some sunshine, and warmer temps.
Chill!

The following report is being looked into by our researchers in the area. The witness is uncertain if this indeed maybe a ghost or perhaps an over tired mind. Perhaps you might have further information or know the identity of this "phantom" jogger:
I work at a large warehouse complex located on Church Street South, just west of the Ajax/Pickering boundary. Several times, whilst walking home from work I have encountered what could possibly be a ghostly phenomenon along the stretch of Church Street between Bayley Road and Highway 2. Basically, while walking on the left hand side (to stay out of the way of oncoming traffic) I've noticed in the immediate distance what appears to be a man walking or possibly jogging in the same direction OR opposite direction of my travel. From my vantage I can usually make out a shady silhouette of a person.and not much else, but the shape does appear to get closer or farther away at times. Once I was so totally sure someone was jogging towards me I moved over closer to the side of the road to let him pass, only to have the shape gradually dissipate as it gets closer. I'm a bit sceptical about the experiences and could easily chalk them up to a long day at work followed by a dark walk home, but figured I might as well report it just in case.
We recently received the following in regards:
"By chance I stumbled on your site and was amazed to see the phantom jogger in Ajax story. After leaving Annandale golf course late one night after a charity event, I do not drink; a jogger appeared out of no where in front of my car. I swerved to avoid the jogger. When I looked in my rear view mirror no one was there. I chalked it up to having a late night, but maybe there was something more to it."
Our thanks to the witnesses.

I was really prepared to hate Paranormal State's Beer, Wine, and Spirit episode. Heck, with the way pop cultural has treated these subjects I half expected to see a ghost hunters dancing on top of beer pong tables to the theme of "Ghost Busters" and believe me there are enough people on the planet who would happily do it for a cheap 15 secs of fame.
Thankfully this was not the case. Reviewers are saying it is their best show yet, and they even employed methods that were pioneered by the oldest operating ghost group in the world
the Ghost Club. I do hope they gave credit to them.

My preferred method of research has always been to be out in the field. Field investigation to me is essential particularly when it comes to Cryptozoology. For colder temps though you really have to be prepared, and wear apparel that is designed for the elements like volcom clothing. Making sure you have the maximum in weather protection will insure that you have a safe, comfortable, and enjoyable time out in the field.
It happened on September 5th 1997.......
"I was near the Town of Morpeth ON. Canada, on the Shores of Lake Erie. I had gone out for an overnight camping trip with my father. We had consumed some beer and were getting ready to retire for the night. I was standing looking towards Lake Erie and happened to notice a light over the lake off to my left side. I had a flashlight in my hand and flashed it on and off a few times, at the light, figuring it was a helicopter. It was some distance away, perhaps 10 to 15 Nautical Miles at an altitude of less than 1000 feet. The sky was clear, temperature was cool, the wind seemed to be blowing at around 15 Knts. Lake surface has mild chop, waves cresting at the shore wave height less than 0.5 meters. Anyhow thinking nothing further of it, I retired to bed, on the beech. An estimated 1 to 1.5 hours later I woke for no apparent reason and looked out at the lake. I could see a blurry Orange light, white became clear when I put on my glasses. About 2 miles offshore, was the light I saw earlier in the night. It was at an altitude of about 500 feet over the surface of the lake. It made no sound, and looked like a big orange globe, bright Orange in the center, casting a noticeable glow around the whole of the globe, it was bright enough to cast an orange reflection on the surface of the lake. The hair on the back of my neck stood up I think, I contemplated waking up my Dad. But opted instead to grab my sleeping bag and hide under the van we had parked at the beach."
Our thanks to the witness for this report! Please note that similar objects have been sighted over both L. Ontario and L. Erie for over 100 plus years.

I received an email recently in regards to cars being cursed? Basically the gist of it was the guy had been restoring a 69 Plymouth Roadrunner, and his body shop supplies kept going missing. He wanted to know if this meant his car was cursed or haunted.
When I receive questions such as these, particular when I cannot examine the area in question my best answer is always going to be "I do not know."
To be honest I do think there is something to it because of the wonderful work our own Chris as well as others have put into experiments in psychometry.

And according to Eastern Astrology we have now ushered in "The Year Of The Rat." Rats are perfectionists. They communicate extremely well, are quick-witted, level headed and always alert. They choose their friends carefully and dote on children. Rats are great strategists and make good politicians, but most importantly, their intuition enables them to suss out the enemy quite early in the game. Rats are shrewd and know how to amass wealth. They’ll gladly spend on their loved ones while outsiders will find them miserly. Their adaptability and clever manoeuvring will see them thumbing their nose at even the tightest spot. But they can be quick-tempered and overly critical, making them edgy, nervous and a downright nag with things don’t go their way. They have an opportunistic trait that will see them wheeling and dealing in exploiting situations for self-benefit.
My grandmother was born in the year of the rat, and I can tell you the description is fairly apt.

I am always bragging about Toronto. It is the place I was born, have lived all of my life in, and of course home to my beloved Toronto Ghosts & Hauntings Research Society. I guess everyone thinks highly of where they were born, raised, or live now, but I sincerely love this city, and could not even think about living elsewhere.
With that said I am always looking for new things to do and see in T.O. and was really excited to come across Toronto Major League Search, a search that just like it sounds is specific to Toronto!
I tried it out earlier this afternoon, and was pleased to find it was really easy to use. You can perform look-ups alphabetically from their main page or you can use their search box. If you are looking for a specific area you can add that to your search criteria.
I used the terms "pubs" and "Bloor West" which brought me to a map screen, (very handy) and a listing of several different pubs in this area of Toronto. The map pinpoints the various locations, and if you mouse-over them you will receive further details such as exact addresses, and telephone numbers.
Very easy to use in my humble opinion, and a cool freebie service!

Dr. Steven Greer Director of the Disclosure Project and Dan Willis, a key Disclosure Project military witness will be featured on the Richard Syrett Show on CFRB 1010 AM Toronto to discuss the UFO/ET issue with Co-Host Victor Viggiani – Director of Media Relations for Exopolitics Toronto this Wednesday evening February 6 at 11:00 pm EST. To listen live on the internet click on: CFRB 1010 AM .
Dr. Greer’s credentials as a Disclosure advocate are internationally renowned.
Among Dr. Greer’s many incisive disclosure initiatives are his briefing of a sitting Director of the CIA and the briefing of the Rt. Honourable Paul Hellyer former Minister of Defense in Canada on UFO/Extraterrestrial matters. Dr. Greer’s ground-breaking work on alternate energy sources associated with sequestered reverse engineered ET technologies clearly demonstrates the extent and proportion of the world-wide government cover-up of the Extraterrestrial matter. These new energy sources will eliminate the use of fossils fuels on the planet.
Dan Willis is a Navy veteran who saw a confidential cable from a US Navy ship reporting a UFO rising out of the sea in very close proximity to a naval ship. Dan Willis has been involved in the efforts to force disclosure of UFO information by official sources since his appearance at the National Press Club in 2001. Richard Syrett and Victor Viggiani will speak with Dan about the people involved in disclosure and how the media works hand in hand with the US Government in keeping the lid on this issue.
Journalists and other interested parties who have any doubts about the reality of the UFO/ET issue and the associated government cover-up will be taken aback by the authenticity of witness details, the official documentation, evidence and by the levels of secrecy currently employed by US government intell-organizations to keep this information both discredited and hidden.
The content of these interviews alone, if investigated by media would be front page news within days of Dr. Greer’s and Mr. Willis’ radio testimony with Richard Syrett. All journalists and editors are encouraged to listen to the most provocative two hours on radio.
NOTE: CNN’S LARRY KING LIVE has aired four programs in the last several months on this issue – bringing the news of the UFO cover-up to millions of Americans, Canadians and satellite viewers around the globe. Major media is awakening to the UFO matter. This Wednesday’s radio interviews are an ideal opportunity for all journalists to engage the issue.
The opportunity for a Canadian journalist to interview Dr. Greer, the only UFO research analyst to have spoken to a sitting CIA Director on the UFO matter, would indeed be breaking news.
It is becoming apparent that the UFO/ET issue is not going to go away, as more and more major media cover sighting reports, witness testimony and the litany of military denials and re-denials. The question is who, among the Canadian media community, will be the first to investigate this issue and call for open government hearings based on hundreds of thousands of pages of evidential material and witness testimony?
Exopolitics Toronto stands ready to consult with print media editors and radio or television network producers to develop investigative or documentary programming or feature articles on the UFO/ET matter.

I was asked if I could personally sample these absolutely yummy looking Grey Poupon mustards along with my family, and give you gentle readers an honest review.
Foolish mortals! Little did they know I am considered a mustard connoisseur! Well at least I consider myself one, and I have already had the pleasure of using Grey Poupon in the past. ![]()

What you see on my desk is one jar of "harvest coarse ground" and one of "hearty spicy brown." Being the spicy type that I am, I first opened, and tried out the latter on my lunch sandwich which consisted of ham, lettuce, and cheese as well as the mustard. It was definitely goodly in this blog writer's opinion! I enjoyed the kick!
I then tried out the "harvest coarse ground" in a spoon test with the kid, and while it was not to her liking (requires a more sophisticated palate in my opinion) I thought it was not too bad. I will be trying it out on a chicken recipe later in the week that I thought sounded scrumptious. We'll see what the kid thinks then. ![]()

What do you think? A mother taking a video clip of her two-year-old daughter photographs what she believes to be a ghost of a woman dressed in Victorian-style clothes on her mobile phone.
Here is a snippet from the news item on this:
A STARTLED Carlisle mum believes she has photographed a ghost on her mobile phone.
Stephanie Harty, 24, recorded the image at her home in Botcherby while taking a video clip of her two-year-old daughter Abigail.
When she played the clip back, she was horrified to see what she says appears to be a woman in the doorway behind Abigail.
Miss Harty, of Borland Avenue, said: “It completely freaked me out.
“You can clearly see a woman dressed in Victorian-style clothes.
“There was nobody else in the house, so it can only have been a ghost.
“I was terrified. I kept all the lights on that night and haven’t been able to sleep there since.”
The incident happened on Friday evening.
The next day Miss Harty moved in with her mum Anne in Moorhouse Road.
She plans to return to Borland Avenue soon.
The property is rented from Carlisle Housing Association. Miss Harty moved there last summer and says nothing unusual has happened before.
I do not see it.
What do you think? A doll, a bed post, a real ghost? At this point we can only take the photographers word on it. Too bad there are no comparison shots that we are aware of.

Well, we've been hearing about the two new competing programs for the "new UFO reality craze" that's sweeping American cable channels... UFO Hunters is one... Alien Hunters is the other on a competing network.
These are probably being driven by the soon-to-be released Untitled X Files Sequel, which is certain to bring a sense of nostalgia and casual interest back into the Ufological studies.
The two televisions shows are not at all getting positive reviews from people who've seen them and, considering the sorry state of Hollywood right now with the writers strike, we wonder if these "reality" programs are being rushed into production to fill time... because it almost appears that had they done their market research on these programs based on the feelings and thoughts of the families of the production staff!
Oh well, so goes pop-culture and the paranormal....... blech!
Although my title for this document is apt, I could also say If you heard one... or even If you've experienced one... because we noticed something about our witness reports... and the reports we read from other sites online.
Effectively, it is rare to find someone who's experienced only one ghost at one location and never experienced another one.
Most witnesses and "experiencers" have had multiple sightings/events happen to them... which begs the question, why?
The most common "popular" belief is that ghost witnesses have some sort of "wiring"... perhaps they are "sensitive"... maybe they are "psychic" in a way.
...but then you'd have to explain something...
Why do people who've witnessed more than one thing in their life witness things in places where other people have in the past (sometimes without knowing of previous reports)? Is the phenomena all based in the mind... and only those who CAN witness/experience things do?
These ideas can be disputed on a few accounts... the easiest being if the phenomena is ONLY in the mind, why do we have multiple witness sightings of some events (more than one person at the same time)?
Do we need a "medium" to make things happen? If so, why are some mediums better adept at making things happen at some places than others? Why don't they "make" the same things happen again and again? If they initially "conjured" up the "spirit" of a woman in red in one place, why did they "conjure up" a laughing man at another?
Now, here's a GOOD thought... and one that I often discuss... is it possible certain "mediums", either knowingly or unknowingly create extra things in some places?
This idea is one that noted author and president of Britain's "Ghost Club", Peter Underwood, has floated.
He documented cases where something like a "historical repeater" was seen by many... a "historical repeater" is a phantom that seems to "go through the motions" of what a person who has passed on went through oblivious to the change in surroundings... but then, a certain person enters this site and suddenly, we have poltergeist activity and far more things happening... which is blamed on the historical repeater... but should it be?
Did the historical repeater suddenly become aware of the "new person"... or did the "new person", aware of the "paranormal past" of the site effectively trigger new things via something like RSPK (Recurrent Spontaneous Psycho Kinesis) which would jive with what The Philip Experiments and the Scole Experiments seem to show?
To be honest, we don't know yet...
What we do know is that, indeed, some people SEEM to be "ghost magnets".
Once you allot (and you must) for those who's will to believe overrides possibly needed scepticism and the witness will interpret "natural" things for the "supernatural", you're still left with a sizable amount of witnesses with more than one sighting under their belt... are these people all mediums?
My hypothesis is that they aren't.
My thought is that, like a pheasant hunter with experience, when he or she looks into what appears to others to be nothing more than brush and forest, they'll see and pick-out seven birds. They know what to look for and how.
As much as many people say they are "frightened" of ghosts, most of us know that the reports tend not to be frightening... but curious.
Over the last few hundred years, the total (possible) documented cases of a ghost killing a person is one - and it's debatable - The Bell Witch case. (Sadly, the total number of deaths because of exorcisms is exponentially higher.)
Most people, when they encounter a "ghost" aren't aware of it until something triggers that they have indeed encountered something odd.
For example, most apparitions are actually very solid looking... like "normal people". Witnesses see them, assume it's a person until something... like "funny clothes" or on second glance, the "person" seems to have vanished even though they should not have been able to... happens.
This being more the norm than anything, it's not at all unusual that a witnesses first experience is a little frightening... more unnerving than anything else... if they have a second experience, they tend to want answers, but are still wary. If they have a third instance, they're likely to run towards whatever it is and not away from it.
These events almost "trigger" a desire to re-experience things and try to get some sort of answer...
Now, there are those who feel they already know the answer to what they experienced... and therefore attribute pretty much every experience to the same thing.
I don't know if this is the correct way of looking at things as there doesn't seem to be a "generic ghost", but multiple types of experienced phenomena... which leads me to feel that the word "ghost" is like the word "animal". A mouse is an animal... as is a grizzly bear... but despite some similarities, it's unlikely that most people would truly categorise them as "the same". A cold is a virus... so is ebola... yet again, they have some similarities, but rarely are considered to be in the same category.
That said, we lump so much into the term "ghost"... strange noises, things moving about on their own, aports (or things disappearing and reappearing in a strange spot), and apparitions... Are they all the same and from the same source?
If they are, then sure, I suppose like the pheasant hunter, someone could be more "tuned in" than others...
...but my thoughts are that the witness now is tuned in in a different way.
Once you've gotten to the multiple (or even one "large" or "weighted") experience, you are less likely to write-off that strange shadow you saw... or the odd noise you heard. Your senses are pricked to see/hear/feel/smell/whatever everything... and therefore, when something odd happens, you'll notice it.
Ergo: The witness of multiple phenomena may not be "more psychic" or "more sensitive" than the next person... but more likely to notice something odd.
Now, this is a hypothesis... and an ongoing study. I can't say we've got anything concrete yet... but to be honest, our findings sure seem to indicate that this is something that should not be ignored...
The better point to this is - those people who WANT to have an experience but haven't MIGHT be literally taught how to improve their chances... and not by psychical means... but by simply being more observant and questioning everything in their surroundings.
Realistically, this could be a double-edged sword, because if someone was to be completely open to all variations in an environment, they would be apt to think every insect crawling in a wall space is a ghost... but with an appropriate amount of legitimate scepticism, analysis, and genuine investigation when "anomalies" seem to be found, we might just be on to something...
Time, will of course, tell.
I came across this interesting article on reincarnation seminars while surfing around the web today, and thought some of you dear readers, particularly in the USA would find it of interest.
The seminars cover topics such as Karma, Reincarnation, and Life Transformation. Cost of these seminars are by suggested donation only, now how cool is that! ![]()
If you would like further details these seminars are being held by The Center of Light, and are running throughout the month of February 2008.
Each Friday we will have a look at the stories and experiences that have been related to us over the years that are amongst our personal favourites. These will include Crypto, Ghosts, Hauntings, UFO's, and other strange events that may be considered Fortean, from in around the Toronto, Canada area .... and since they are from our own personal files will likely not be found elsewhere on the web .... enjoy!

The following report was sent into us in January 2008.
"I was shopping for antiques at the Southworks antiques market. The building itself is an old textiles factory. I was looking into a stall filled with antiques when an older woman dressed in a matching red gaberdine coat and hat crossed my path so close to me that I had to step backwards to avoid colliding with her. I looked behind me to see where I was stepping and when I looked back she was gone. Her perfume permeated the air.I looked around to see where this rude old lady had went only to realize that I was alone.
I found my wife and asked her if the woman had passed by her (as there was nowhere else to go ) and she replied that she had not seen anyone matching her description . I asked the staff if they had seen anyone in the store who may have fit the description and they said no. I feel the woman was tied to some object there."
Our thanks to the witness for sharing this experience with us.
"Southworks Outlet Mall is named after the South Works of Babcock & Wilcox. Dumfries Foundry, is the forerunner of B & W, and was founded in 1844 by James Andrews and James Crombie. The foundry was located on a site which is commonly thought to be where the Cambridge Bus Depot is now located. In 1847 Dumfries Foundry moved to the Grand Avenue site."
A complete history of this site can be found on their official website here:

My father was a huge baseball fan, and he always had a soft spot for the Chicago Cubs. If you know someone with a passion for the Cubs you might want to check out this website that I discovered today.

Cub World.com is the source for Cubs merchandise on the net. They are the official website of Sports World, which is located across from Wrigley Field, and they carry everything a Cubs fan would want in cool Cubs merchandise. I had a lot of fun checking out the site earlier this morning!
The site is easy to use, and very handy for anyone who cannot get out to the store. They provide a safe & secured online shopping experience.
Cool! ![]()
I came across Tasina's Thursday Thirteen yesterday (which was a real treat to read, go check it out) and this bit really made my day!
Despite what you have learned from really stupid horror movies, building your home on an old Indian burying ground will NOT cause poltergeists in your house. Although I don't follow any Native religions, I am QUITE certain that the afterlife of Native peoples does NOT involve sucking little blond wasicus (that means white people, for all you white people) into TV's. But don't mess with burying grounds - it's rude and you wouldn't want us to do it to you. Plus the NAGPRA folks will get you. Furthermore, despite what Mr. King would have us believe, burying your pet in an old Native burying ground will not cause the pet to come back to life and kill your family.
Get that get the heck out of their cemeteries with your Ouija boards! And to stupid ghost hunters ask a Native about Native burial grounds do not consult charlatan ghost busters that claim Native spirits are popping out of anything, and stop perpetuating these ignorant myths.
We have been saying it for years, and I was just so happy to see Tasina write about it.
Love it!
Miss Toronto Tourism Loses Credibility As A Picket Is Planned Here In T.O. For February 2nd.
There has been a vehement outcry against Miss Toronto Tourism in response to their rejection of pageant judge Stephanie Conover because of her spiritual beliefs.
But it turns out religious expression might not be the only thing the Miss Toronto Tourism Board wants to stomp-out. An interesting coincidence has been discovered by Michael MacKid, an activist researcher. "If you google the names 'Warren Booth' and 'K Murray' you end up with three search results pointing at two organizations. One is the Miss Toronto Tourism Board of Directors (which is directed by K Murray), and the other is the defunct manandwomanunion.com -- an anti-gay organization that had fought to overturn same-sex marriage legislation in Canada."
Organizers are planning a picket at the Miss Toronto Tourism Pageant on Saturday, February 2. Supporters for Ms. Conover are asked to arrive at the Waterfront Raddison Admiral, 249 Queen's Quay West, at 4:00 p.m. "The directors of the Miss Toronto Tourism pageants' actions beg for attention," says Picket Organizer Tracey Hayes. "As a Canadian citizen, Stephanie Conover deserves equal and fair treatment as afforded her by the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms. One can not be treated unjustly because of one's interests or religious beliefs. Canadian citizens are outraged and will stand strong in support of Stephanie Conover."
Three Facebook groups have also been launched to protest the injustice against Ms. Conover, and the combined results are over 700 members strong -- and growing. "I am calling all people to take a stand for equality," says Devika Singh, one of the Facebook protestors. "Last time I checked, religious bigotry was not only illegal but immoral."
Longtime Pagan activist Devyn Christopher Gillette also questions the legality of Miss Toronto Tourism's actions. "Pageant representatives are flatly and openly discriminating against Ms. Conover on the grounds of her beliefs. This is illegal in Canada and a violation of the Ontario Human Rights Code."
Ms. Conover is currently seeking legal counsel.
To help with legal expenses, The Psychic Brunch has offered to donate 20% from their next Brunch (on February 10 at The Old Nick, 123 Danforth, 1-6pm, www.psychicbrunch.ca) to Ms. Conover. Says Ralph Hamelmann, Psychic Brunch founder, "Ms. Conover was rejected because of her interest in Tarot and Reiki, but these are healing tools used to help people. There's nothing 'dark' here except the ignorance from Miss Toronto Tourism ."
Since the incident began, protestors have been contacting the Miss Toronto Tourism's sponsors. Marca College said they would be pulling out as a sponsor, while Mary Kay Cosmetics and Michel Dauda Photography both claim they were never supporters of the event. In fact, a spokes-person from Mary Kay said their legal department would be investigating the matter. Another sponsor, Paul Murton, of Image Library and CD Duplication Toronto, finds the matter "rather silly" but is grateful for the media attention and opportunity to "share a good laugh" over the incident with clients. Since this initiative began, the Pageant's sponsor page has been reduced to two sponsors from 18.
"The driving force behind our actions is human rights," says Hamelmann. "Stephanie Conover deserves an apology for all she's been through."
In the meantime, Gillette is perplexed by the Pageant's perception that Ms. Conover's defending her legal rights was vindictive and "stirring up trouble". According to Gillette, "to suggest such demonstrates exactly how out of touch the pageant is with the principles of this nation, and of a healthy, multicultural society".
