Cher In Las Vegas 2008

Cher during Living Proof: The Farewell Tour

I have always loved and respected Cher as an entertainer, and more so as a human being. I guess in part I have always been fond of her because she strikes me as a highly spiritual person, and also because I loved her in the 1987 hit The Witches of Eastwick. While the latter is an obvious connection to the paranormal, did you know that her great humanitarian and charitable work was also apparently alluded to in an episode of the TV series X-Files entitled The Post Modern Prometheus? Now you do!

The reason I am writing about Cher today is that I just found out that she will be replacing my fave Canadian diva Celine Dion (she makes me want to move mountains lol!) in las Vegas. That is right Cher will be starting up a new show in May 2008! Cher tickets at Ceasars Palace are apparently already available for fans! How cool is that!

This is such rockin' news! I guess I have to admire anyone that has had such a successful career (spanning 4 decades) and has had great influence on pop culture over the years, but when it is a beautiful, powerful woman like Cherilyn Sarkisian LaPierre it is just that much cooler! I hope that I will get a chance to be able to see her Vegas show in person one day. Sigh.....

i just saw someplace that bette midler was replacing celine dion...hummmmmm...i love cher too, but rather see bette anytime..

Great article...but when will Cher finally 'cher' the fantastic news? Nothing is official yet...but I am already looking into fights and hotels!!! I absolutely cannot wait to see Cher again!!! I was fortunate that during her farewell Tour I got to see her 5 times rows 1-4 !!! And stood at the stage at the "bowl" for her final two performances!!! An experience I will never forget! Hope you all get to experience Cher at her best...on stage!
