Michigan Ghost Hunters Arrested

Why does this type of stupidity not surprise me anymore????

Read on:

GALENA TOWNSHIP -- A plan to hunt ghosts near Posey Chapel ended in the arrest of three Michigan residents late Wednesday night.

Shortly after 10 p.m., La Porte County Sheriff’s Department deputies responded to a report of three women arguing while walking down CR-1000N in Galena Township. Police found six people walking on the road. One male reportedly ran into the nearby woods.

Police chased Mark Poff, 47, of Three Oaks, Mich., into the woods and apprehended him. Poff was reportedly verbally abusive to officers and threatened them.

Poff and the others told police they were headed to Posey Chapel to look for ghosts.

Poff was arrested for resisting law enforcement, public intoxication and furnishing alcohol to a minor. James Peterson, 20, and Chelsea Rogmussen, 20, both of Michigan, were arrested for underage drinking. Police let the other three people go.

I'm not surprised. Just like I'm not surprised arsonists burned down a 100+ year old house because they said it was haunted, like they were doing the world a favor or something. It's just stupid.

Wait a minute, lets not swallow the story whole. For a start, the only real fact is they made enough noise for someone to call the police.

Regarding "resisting law enforcement", have you seen the video of the student being "Tazed" by the police for "resisting arrest" ? All the student did was try to ask J.Kerry about his membership of Skull and Bones.

Sorry if this is not the sort of comment you expected. I am not saying that all police are corrupt, etc... What I am saying is that the rule of law in the USA died a death on sept 11 th.

David -> Corrupt law enforcement aside (which could be possible) this is not the first group arrested in recent months for trespassing, and worse. Heck there is a group strongly advocating carrying guns on investigations of abandoned buildings (I'm certain they'll be arrested for something soon too - probably the accidental shooting of one of their own).

I must confess that I do not drink, and I do not advocate anyone carrying a gun.

It is difficult to comprehend anyone thinking that carrying a gun on a ghost investigation is missing a few brain cells.

Also I must be clear that I am 100% behind the rule of law.

If this had happened in Canada I would be inclined to back the judgment of the arresting officer.

By, the way, have you ever heard of "Skull and Bones" ?

I can understand anyone finding this hard to believe. After all, how could the Bible Belt endorse a candidate with who was a member of an occult society. Has he renounced his membership ?

Well this is when it gets worse, Kerry is also Skull and Bones.

Oh, and lastly another name for Skull and Bones is The Order of Death, and yes they are connected with the Thule Society like that nice austrian chap called adolf summat...

I'm not even sure if this is off topic or not.

I'm originally from LaPorte and have relatives buried at Posey Chapel. It was a pretty creepy place before someone plopped a horsefarm right nearby. With the farm being that close, I can see why the police were there.
