Wordless Wednesday - Frankenstein's Creature

Dr. Frankenstein's creature as portrayed by Boris Karloff.

Today I am not feeling so well, and an old memory of being a kid with a bad head cold popped into my head. I remember being too sick to go to school, and grabbing a copy of Mary Shelley's book from my mother's book shelves. My first introduction to the monster....and I've been hooked ever since....

Happy Wordless Wednesday, and thank you for stopping by!

Ah William Henry Pratt. Looking at him as Frankenstein's monster and you forget there's a well to do Englishman under the make up. Hope you're feeling better soon.

Summer break 1971. The school board's summer program let two gorgeous teen age girl supervisors and us have access to the school. Most of the summer we played one sport or another. One rainy day we set up the projector in the dark basement of the summer vacation empty school. Watched Karloff as Frankenstein, Chaney as The Phantom and The Hunchback etc. It was great! Having to walk up to use the bathroom in the deserted school was scary! Thanks, that's what that image evokes for me.

Oh no I'm sorry to hear you're sick! But what a great memory to well remember and what a fantastic way to get introduced into the supernatural and scary.

Hope you're feeling better. :)

That reminds me of my first brush with the supernatural, it just happened to be The Exorcist...me and my sister snuck out to the living room late one night and watched it. Scared the living piss out of me but I've loved spooky stories and horror movies ever since.
