UFO Report - Peterborough Ontario

Please note that this is a vintage report.

Peterborough Ontario - September 1983

"On a farm in 1983 in the Peterborogh area. It was about 9-9:30pm and dark outside.

We were sitting in the living room when the cattle in the field began to bawl loudly.Being mostly farm or country kids,5 of us decided to check it out ,wondering if dogs or coyotes were bothering the cows and calves.

We had checked the fence line and walked amongst the cows, but couldn't see anything, the cattle were bunched up in the middle of the field and remained agitated,we thought that we check out the barn, but saw nothing there either.

We then stopped just outside the barn to talk and have a smoke before going back into the house. As we were talking the hairs on my head stood up and I had the desire to look up,as I looked up I noticed a large tear dropped shape object hovering about 200 meters over our heads. It was luminous and stationary and remained there for approximately another 30 seconds before it suddenly shot straight up and disappeared from view.

We immediately headed back to the house."

Our thanks to the witness for sharing this experience with us. Peterborough has been the scene of both many UFO reports over the years including reports of cattle mutilations.

If you have had a similar experience please email us in confidence or leave a comment below.

The ol' weather balloon explanation. A bit of a classic, isn't it?

Interesting report from Peterborough!

Chris -> It seems to be a standby, even in areas they are not launched!

When I was a boy my family would vacation in Peterborough, Canada. I'd say it was around 1964 or 65. I was 6 or 7 years old. I remember it being a simple farm house with cows, goats and pigs. My father was out in the yard and yelled to us to come outside. Holy shit is what said when I saw that enormous silvery white disc in the sky hovering over the field. The two of us just stared up at it until it quietly left the area and disappeared into the clouds. My dad passed away 17 years ago and we never talked about the incident regretfully. Do you have any knowledge of a sighting in that area around that time? Would love to know if I made the whole thing up in my head or not. We never went back to that house after that summer.

Can you recall the date or even season this occurred? The area is well known for UFO activity.

I'll see what I can dig up.
