New X-Files Movie

A new X-Files movie is being planned, and both original stars of the tv series David Duchovny, and Gillian Anderson are set to take part. Here is a snippet from the BBC:

A new film reviving the cult 1990s TV series The X-Files is moving closer to being made, according to reports.

David Duchovny, one of the show's stars, has told reporters he will receive a script next week.

Duchovny and co-star Gillian Anderson are both "on board" to reprise their roles as alien-hunting special agents Mulder and Scully, he said.

The script has been written by creator Chris Carter and writer Frank Spotnitz, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

The pair co-wrote the first X-Files movie, which came out almost a decade ago. The original thriller series was a hit when it ran from 1993-2002, winning three Golden Globes for best TV drama.

I know that many UFOlogists grumble about the show particularly the character Fox Mulder who believed a little too much to ever be considered an objective investigator. Personally I did enjoy the show, and took it for what it was, a fun piece of fiction.

I liked this show. I thought that after the first movie they were automatically doing a sequel, but I guess they put that on hold for a while.

It'll be interesting to see what they come up with.

Indeed it will. I also enjoyed this show during its run, though I'm sure like any fiction series, it spawned misconceptions about what ufologists and paranormal investigators actually do. :-P Great show all the same... aside from the episodes that were supposedly in Missouri but had the Pacific Coastal Mountains and Vancouver in the background - LOL!
