Those familiar with vampire lore, know the name of Elizabeth Bathory. I have even seen her billed as the "real" Dracula. However, how much about her actual life jibes with the horrific crimes she was accused of? I think this is my favourite WW by far! Something else for me to visit, I do love the drawing/engraving too. 
Simone -> Hammer made a film about her called the Blood Countess. Her image in the film was not exactly historically accurate.

Amazing, I kept moving the page up and down so I could see which bit it is in the photo compared to the drawing.Think I sussed it unless of course you were on the opposite side completely.
Very interesting article. I wonder how much is true and how much is lore. Fascinating that some of her castle is still standing. I would love to go visit it some day. 
I read about Elizabth Bathory once. What a strange fetish she had...Sometimes, she's connected with Vlad the Impaler (Dracula). Is that right?
Anyway, nice photo. I like castles, even if such horrible things happened within their walls.
