Violent Sleep Disorder Creates 'Mr Hyde'

From The BBC:

A quiet night's sleep is not an option for Derek Rogers or his wife - because he turns from a mild-mannered "Dr Jekyll" by day to a "Mr Hyde" by night.

Mr Rogers, 70, from Bedford, has a rare sleep disorder which causes him to become violent when he sleep-walks.

He has destroyed furniture, attacked his wife and injured himself during the night - but remembers nothing.

Sleep disorders can occasionally be the cause of perceived paranormal activity. It is important to ask witnesses for their medical history when a sleep disorder such as sleep paralysis is suspected.

Especially eerie since he looks far from 70 years old in the still taken at the sleep lab. It is strange the things that can happen in the nocturne - I used to sleepwalk when I was young. Would turn on all of the lights and plop myself down to watch TV, only to wake up in front the TV with my Dad asking what the heck I was doing.
