Sunday Smackdown - Mea Culpa - I made a boo-boo...

From the desk of Matthew Double Decker Bus Guy Didier...

A couple of Sunday's ago, I wrote a missive about an article written by a fellow named Benjamin Radford who is in the employ of The Committee for Scientific Investigations of Claims of the Paranormal... or CSICOP for short...

Mr. Radford e-mailed me and pointed out I had made mistakes and he stated that I needed to atone for my incorrect statements publicly... so here goes...

For the record, CSICOP's newsletter is quarterly, not monthly as I had stated.

We are sorry for overstating the amount of literature that CSICOP puts out per year to it's paying members and apologise for any inconvenience this statement may have caused.

Oh, allow me to add something that wasn't in my estimation, a mistake... but it was mentioned... CSICOP probably doesn't really "fear" us... that was dramatic license based on them seemingly avoiding us, The Rhine Institute, Lund University, King's Colllege London, Edinburgh University, and a few other places and folks... but to be fair, it's only conjecture on our (and a few other's) part that "fear" is involved.

The above mentioned were my mistakes and I apologise for them.

What the gentle reader should note is what needed an apology... and what didn't... and ask yourself, how important were the items that required an apology...?

Hmmm...

Well, Mr. Radford, and oddly enough, NO disrespect intended, I have atoned for those things which I had no evidence and were incorrect... and yes, to answer your question, I've done it publicly.

Hi Brandon,

First let me say best wishes for your experiment and thank you for asking us to be a part of it.

However the few links we do have are to blogs that we actually read and enjoy. I view them as a courtesy to the writer and for our readers.

Therefore I am very hesitant to add a blog that is just a collection of links.

I hope you understand and thank you again for thinking of us!
