High Park & Cartoon Creatures

Firstly Matthew and I want to thank everyone who attend our High Park seminar right here in Toronto, Canada this past Saturday! It was you ladies and gents who made this get-together so much fun and a great success!!!! Thank you!!!!

I personally enjoyed being able to meet with some of the regular readers of our website/s and hearing their own experiences with the paranormal first hand.

One that struck me as rather unusual, but not completely unique came from a young lady who works at one of our local hospitals.

She told me of a rather strange experience she had whilst at home a few years ago. She saw what she describes as a "cartoon-like" bird which flew across the room, smashed into a wall, shattered, and then vanished! She was not alone. A girlfriend of hers was with her at the time and saw the very same thing! Needless to say it freaked them out!

Now before you ask .... she states that neither of them were taking any drugs, nor drinking alcohol that day despite how it may sound like a bad acid trip .... ;)

Interestingly this is not the first time I have taken a report involving "cartoonish" creatures. I have an article located on the Pararesearchers website entitled Cartoon-Like Creatures, which has perplexed the witness since childhood. Click on the link for further reading.

I will be sending a copy of this report to the young lady that I met at the seminar. I hope it makes her feel a bit better about her own experience, if for no other reason than she can be comforted by that fact that she is not alone.

Thanks again everyone! Looking forward to the Toronto Islands seminar on the July 8th!

Cheers!
Sue

Anyone, and I mean ANYONE who has always even just wondered what ghost/haunting investigations are all about, how they're done, or anyone even just slightly curious as to how something like paranormal investigations can even be approached, I wholly recommend attending these seminars, even if it's just one. Matt and Sue, in my opinion are professionals. And not only in the sense of taking this sort of work seriously, but also in that they know what they are talking about, are well versed in the paranormal both in previous studies and in current, ongoing work in various fields of the paranormal. If you are unable to attend due to distance or dates constraints, that’s a total bummer, but anyone able to go and only passing on it because they’re doubtful of the credibility of these presentations should really make the effort and go, you won’t be sorry. I found last night’s very interesting and learned quite a bit, from proper use of equipment (much easier to learn hands-on than just reading) to what to look for and what to do at a site when on an investigation. Oh, and I also had fun last night, nothing boring about it!

AndyThese cartoon creatures drew my attention because they struck a chord. Some long time ago I wrote a forum post to 'Fortean Times' about an experience I had back in the early 1990s, when I came across a black stick man walking home at dawn from a friend's house with my female flatmate.

We saw a humanoid figure about the average height of a ten-year-old child, as black as black could ever be, no face, no distinguishing characteristics - it was as if he'd been cut out like a gingerbread man from the substance of reality, and he was the hole left behind, showing the darkness.

We had neither consumed drugs nor alcohol but were admittedly tired after cramming for exams all night. At first we thought it was a man walking towards us, until I said 'See that man?'. My friend said 'yes'. I said, 'It's not a man, is it?'. She said, 'No.'

And we then knew he had realised we could see him. He paused. We ran, as our flat where we lived was about halfway between us and him/it.

We saw him turn his head as he ran towards us, looking for all the world as if someone had taken that men's symbol you see on public toilet doors and given it life. As the head turned, we saw he was flat. Completely. He was wafer-thin, not three-dimensional.

We were being chased by a cut-out as if made from paper. We ran to the front door, got it open sharpish and hid like kids at the top of the first flight of stairs. We didn't dare breathe. The stick man came to the door - we could see him through the big glass windows - and seemed to peer inside.

After a minute he turned and, being thin, vanished from sight.

I only found out other people around the world have seen him over ten years later. Even writing about him now chills me to the bone. My theory - my idea - is that he was a creature from another dimension. But this was in London, not some remote place like where we live today! He walked as if he owned the street...

Have you folks covered him anywhere on your blog? x

AndyI may well write about him in more detail for my own blog once I am feeling if not exactly recovered but certainly stronger with regards to getting beyond my dear cat's passing this week. x
